What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists assess, plan and implement rehabilitative programs that improve or restore human motor functions, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes, and treat or prevent physical challenges associated with injuries,diseases and other impairments. They apply a broad range of physical therapies and techniques such as movement, ultrasound, heating, laser and other techniques. They may develop and implement programmes for screening and prevention of common physical ailments and disorders.

Who is eligible for membership?

anyone who holds a degree in physiotherapy from a local university or a foreign university which is recognized by the ministry of higher education and the JPTS and equivalent to the first degree of physiotherapy in Jordan.
The rights of the working member include the following:- To nominate himself\herself to be elected as a member of the JPTS board after 1 year of subscription.
– To vote for the candidates running for the president position or for those running for the board if he\she has already renewed the membership prior to the elections.
– To participate in the committees or subcommittees.
– To discuss and suggest profession related issues in the general committee meetings.

has to be a student of one of the Jordanian universities that teach physiotherapy or any university which is recognized by the ministry of higher education. Rights: – the right to attend general committee meetings and to discuss and suggest profession related issues. – the right to blend in the committees and sub- committees of the JPTS.

is a person known for his contribution to physiotherapy and JPTS or to any profession in the medical field and is known for being welling to improve the health sector in the country. He\She has to be chosen and approved by the JPTS board. this member has the right to vote, attend meetings of the general committee, and suggests and discusses profession related issues in the general committee meetings but he can’t run for president or head any other committee.

must hold a degree from a Jordanian university or a foreign university that is recognized by ministry of higher education. Or currently practices physiotherapy in Jordan. this member has the right to vote, attend meetings of the general committee, and suggests and discusses profession related issues in the general committee meetings but he can’t run for president or head any other committee. Physiotherapists who hold a bachelor degree or higher from a Jordanian university or from a foreign university that is equivalent to the first degree of physiotherapy in Jordan and is recognized by the ministry of higher education.
