The wrist joint is formed by the bones of the forearm ( mainly the radius) which articulates with the bones of the hand (first carpal row). The carpal bones ( first and second rows) which form the bottom of the space are roofed by a ligament ( transverse carpal ligament) that allow a safe passage of the tendons ( emerging from the elbow and forearm), and the main nerve ( Median nerve). This space is called “CARPAL TUNNEL” These tendons are responsible for the hand movement and the median nerve is to supply some of the hand muscles. The median nerve supplies muscles of the thumb and some of the small muscles between digits, and it provides sensation to the thumb, index, middle and half of the ring finger.
