The musculoskeletal system ( also known as the Locomotive system)as the name implies is formed by Muscles (musculo-) and the Skeleton (Skeletal-)  is responsible for our upright presentation, mobility and protection of internal organs and structures . The skeleton is comprised of the Axial Skeleton (Skull, Spine and Chest wall) and Appendicular skeleton  which includes the (shoulder girdle, upper limb bones, pelvic girdle and lower limb bones).The musculoskeletal system if formed up by 206 bones and about 640 muscles.

At their ends, bones articulate to form Joints which are stabilized by Ligaments and moved by Muscles originating and inserting into bones via Tendons.
