The Jordanian Physiotherapy Society celebrated the World physiotherapy day on Thursday 12th pf October at the Grassa Hotel in Amman.

The President of the society, Dr. Alia Alghwiri reviewed the role of the society in the development of the physiotherapy profession in Jordan through scientific courses and free medical days, adopting a scientific journal and concluding agreements with local, regional and international organizations.

Dr. Mahmoud Al-Omari gave a detailed explanation of the importance of the physical activity and its impact on human health in line with the slogan of the World confederation of Physiotherapy (WCPT) for this day “Movement for health”.

The Arab Engineers Company also presented a lecture on the shock wave device, which is an advanced device used in the treatment of tendonitis and muscle.

The event featured a video illustrating the great development witnessed by Jordan in the field of diversity and progress in the practical skills used by physiotherapists with many pathological conditions.

At the end of the ceremony, which was inaugurated by the Director General of Health Directorates, Dr. Akram Al-Khasawneh, the Society honored all the heads of the Society since its foundation in 1980, who are credited with establishing the society and developing the profession in Jordan.

It is noteworthy that the Jordanian Physiotherapy Society is an independent medical scientific professional association for the profession of physiotherapy and licensed physiotherapists in Jordan and is a member of the World, European and Arab Physiotherapy confederations.
